How to create a presentation that others will find memorable:
1) Have ONE thing to say: create a strong thesis that you clearly state up front and support well. This means having discipline.
2) Write for the ear:
- shorter words
- shorter sentences
- contractions: write like you know you talk
- choose your big-ticket vocabulary carefully
- know your audience
3) Practice in advance: Ask for the opportunity to present in front of your peers or friends.
What can your audience take home?
1) Your ONE idea for this paper.
2) A paper supplement handout: Download an annotated example here.
