The primary purpose of C&F is to support student self-understanding and formation. Iliff’s C&F process is not used to determine fitness for ministry nor for academic review. Individual student C&F information is not shared with the Iliff faculty. At times, general trends in cohort data may be shared with the Faculty Council to help faculty better relate to students in their teaching.
The C&F process uses three assessments as an initial point of conversation: The Strong Interest Inventory, Skills Confidence Profile, and California Personality Inventory. We adhere to psychological standards regarding confidentiality when administering, interpreting, and sharing the results of a student’s assessments.
Students sign an Informed Consent document which allows the Director of Consultation & Formation to read and interpret student assessments, as well as, consult with the Director of Professional Formation as needed.
Students may request that their assessment results be shared with a professional qualified to interpret them. This adheres to the guidelines developed by the American Counseling Association regarding the release of documents with identifying information. Students must sign a separate release for their assessments to be shared.
