Starting Closed Caption or Live Transcript in a Meeting (For Host):
For Desktop Application:
- In a Zoom meeting that you are hosting, click Live Transcript button in the bottom of your Zoom meeting window.
- Then choose Enable under Live Transcription. (Note: Host must enable this feature for participants to use live transcription during the meeting, otherwise participants must request for live transcription from the host. When host enables this feature, by default, it is enabled for all participants.)
- Participants can Hide or Show Subtitles by: clicking on Live Transcript > Hide / Show Subtitles.
- Participants can request for live transcripts from host by: clicking on Live Transcript > Request Live Transcription > then click Request.
For Mobile Application:
- In the Zoom meeting, click on More button located in the meeting control bar.
- Then Choose Enable Live Transcript. (Note: Host must enable this feature for participants to use live transcription during the meeting, otherwise participants must request for live transcription from the host. When host enables this feature, by default, it is enabled for all participants.)
Zoom – Enabling Live Transcription
If you do not see the option for Live Transcript when hosting a meeting, please ensure that the feature is enabled.
- Sign into the Zoom web portal and in the navigation panel, click Settings. (If using Zoom application, click on the Settings cog wheel, then view More Settings).
- Click on Meetings
- Under In Meeting (Advanced), verify Closed captioning is enabled. Then ensure that the check box for Allow live transcription service to transcribe meeting automatically is enabled.
