Create a space
- Next to Spaces, click Create or find a space > Create space.
- Enter a space name.
- Optional: To customize your space:
- If you want to pick an emoji, click Choose an emoji.
- If you use a Google Workspace account, you may enable the following options:
- Use threaded replies to create different conversation threads.
- Allow people outside of your organization to join
- Optional: To customize your space:
- Enter names or email addresses of people and groups you want to add.
- Click Create.
- Optional: To add more people and bots to the space:
- click Add people & bots.
- Enter names or emails.
- Click Send.
Preview & join a space
- Next to Spaces, click Start a chat > Browse spaces.
- The spaces you're invited to are at the top of the list.
- To find a space, enter its name.
- Optional: To preview a space, point to the space name and click Preview.
- When you preview a space, you can read messages, but you can't send messages or get notifications.
- In the preview, to block the space, click Block. To join the space, click Join.
Leave a space:
- On the left, under Spaces, next to the space name, click More (three dots) options > Leave > Leave space.
