The Google Form add-on enables the use of email notifications for your Google Forms. This feature allows you to establish rules for sending email alerts to a designated address each time a respondent submits their form. The following instructions offer a step-by-step guide to setting up this functionality:
- Navigate to your Google Form.
- Click on the puzzle icon at the top right of the form and select Email Notifications for Google Forms.
- On the Email Notifications for Google Forms window, select Open App (if you do not see this option, try closing out of the window and re-open the window by clicking on the puzzle icon).
- Once the Form Notification app is open, click on the Create button at the top right of the window and select Email Notification.
- Here you will need to fill out some information to configure your notification settings. Under the Message tab:
- Notification Name: brief name to distinguish between multiple form notifications.
- Sender's Name: Name of sender to appear on the notification email
- Sender's Email Address: email address to appear on the notification email
- Reply-to Email Address: allow for replies to from those receiving the notification emails
- Feel free to leave The Message section as default, unless you are wanting to further customize the email notification message.
- Under the Recipients tab:
- Fill out the TO Recipients by adding the email address of the recipient that will receive the email notification. Please note that for the free tier you are limited to 20 email notifications per day, meaning that adding more recipients will count towards the limit (e.g. 1 respondent submission email notification sent to 2 recipients counts towards 2 email notifications towards your daily limit). Here are more information on the tier limitations.
- Under the PDF tab:
- Create PDF Attachment > Generate PDF file: you can enable this function to generate and attach a pdf file of the response to your notification email.
- Click Save & Continue.
