How to share music from Apple Music, Pandora, SoundCloud, and YouTube
This post will discuss how to share music playlists from a couple of different platforms.
Apple Music:
Apple Music can be accessed from both Macs and PCs. After you have an account set up, you can access many playlists that Apple Music makes for you, or you can make some of your own playlists. To share a playlist navigate to the playlist you want to share, then click the "..." icon in the top right corner.
Then, hold your cursor over "Share Playlist" and select "Copy Link"
You can then paste this link to wherever you would like to share the playlist. For this example, we will look at sharing via Canvas.
Click on the course that you want to share the play list to. For this example, we will look at posting to a Discussion Board. First, Click reply on the discussion post that you want to post your playlist to.
Then click on the "Link to URL" icon.
Then paste the copied Playlist URL in the box and then click "Insert Link"
Now, you will see your pasted link to the playlist you want to share in your post, but you're not done yet! Click "Post Reply" and then you have successfully shared your playlist.
Pandora:
When you first log in to Pandora, here is what the main page will look like:
Next, you will want to click on "My Stations". Once you find the Pandora station that you want to share, hover over it to display hidden icons.
Click on the "..." at the bottom of the play list to open another hidden menu.
Click on "Share"
Then click "Copy Link"
Then copy the link that is shown
You can paste the link to wherever you want to share it.
SoundCloud:
When in SoundCloud, navigate to a song or playlist or search for a new playlist or song. Once you find what you're looking for, click on the "Share" button
From there, a link automatically pops up that you can copy and paste.
Another nice option with SoundCloud is embedding, which allows users to play the play list on the page where it is pasted to.
Going back to Canvas as our example, you can embed a SoundCloud play list to a discussion. Once in the discussion, you will click on "Reply". Then click on "HTML Editor"
Next, just paste the embed code that you copied from the previous step and then click on "Post Reply"
Then, you can see and play the playlist right from the discussion post.
YouTube:
When using YouTube to create a playlist, be sure to be signed in to your Iliff email account before starting. Once you're logged in, search for music that you'd like to add to your play list.
Then click on the playlist button, and then click on "Create new playlist"
You can name this new playlist whatever you want to and then click on "Create"
Now you can search for other music that you want to add to this playlist. Click on the playlist button and now you can Add it directly to the playlist that you previously created.
Once you've added all the music you want to your playlist, you can share it. You will do this by going to the YouTube homepage. You should now see your playlist on the left under "Library". Click on your playlist.
Then click "Edit"
Then click "Share"
YouTube gives you two options, like SoundCloud, where you can share a link or share by embed. To share with a link, just copy and past the link. To share by embed, just copy and paste the embed code.
