If your MacBook is experiencing hardware failure or is damaged, you may take it in to your local Apple store for a free repair/replacement. Generally, MacBooks that are provisioned through Iliff are covered under warranty, when you take it in for repairs the warranty will be tied to the serial number (meaning that the only thing you would need to bring in with you is the MacBook for repair).
Checking Apple Warranty and Schedule Appointment for Apple Support
To get started, navigate to the Apple's Check Coverage link and entering your device serial number (located on the bottom of your MacBook).
- Once your laptop warranty info page loads up, ensure that your laptop is still covered by AppleCare.
- Then under Repairs and Service Coverage: Active, click on Set up a repair.
- Select Mac > Mac notebooks > then select the following topic related to the issue with your MacBook.
- You will then follow the steps to schedule an appointment with an Apple support by choosing your preferred location and date.
Things to do Before your Appointment:
*Please ensure that these steps are taken before heading to your schedule appointment.*
- Back up all your critical data to your Google Drive.
- Ensure that Find My Mac is disabled. To do so:
- Click on the Apple icon (located at the top left) > System Preferences... > Apple ID > iCloud
- Under Find My Mac, ensure that it is unchecked (to the right of that option, if you see an options button click on it then click turn off on Find My Mac, which will require you to enter your Apple password).
