ESOL Students work closely with the Writing Center to improve their written communication skills. Per the ESOL Extension Policy, students for whom English is not their primary language may sign up to receive accommodations in the form of assignment extensions and extra time on exams. In order to take advantage of these benefits, these students will need to submit their ESOL Declaration Form to their advisor and submit drafts of their writing assignments to the Writing Center for feedback. Students must submit their drafts and then meet with the Writing Center to discuss them one week in advance of their extended assignment deadline. They must also be able to demonstrate to their instructors that they have edited their original assignment based on feedback from the Writing Center (this can be done by showing the instructor their original draft and their revised assignment after their meeting with the Writing Center.)
