This is to install Secure Print specifically for the Canon printer. This will allow users to send a print job to a print queue which then can be release from the Canon printer located in Skaggs Hall, utilizing the Canon print driver for finisher capabilities.
How to Install Canon Secure Print on Mac (Bonjour)
To install secure print on a Mac:
- Navigate to System Preferences and click on Printers & Scanners.
- Click on the "+" to add a printer. (secure_print will be listed as one of the available printers to install through Bonjour)
- Select canon_secure_print
- Click the drop-down next to Use:
- Click on Select Software...
- Type in the filter box 265, select Canon iPR C270/C265 PS, and click OK
- If you do not see the printer driver (Canon iPR C270/C265 PS), please follow the instruction to Install Printer Driver on Mac
- Click on Add to add the printer.
How to Install Secure Print on Windows
To install secure print on a Windows machine:
- On the Windows search box (located on the bottom left of the screen), start typing printer, and select Printers & scanners.
- Click on Add a printer or scanner and wait for list of printers to populate.
- At the bottom of that list, click on The printer that I want isn't listed, which will bring up the Find a printer by other options window.
- Choose Select a shared printer by name. Within the box, start typing \\utilityapps.iliff.edu\ and a list of printers will show up.
- Select \\utilityapps.iliff.edu\Canon_Secure_Print, then click Next. This will install and setup Secure Print as a printer option when printing.
How to Install Secure Print via Mobility Print on Mac/Windows
To install secure print:
- Navigate to the PaperCut Mobility Print installation link on your web browser.
- If prompted, Do you want to allow this page to open "mobility-print-client"?, click Allow.
- Follow the steps on the webpage, under step 1, click on Download and run Mobility Print button to download and install the Mobility print client. Click through the installation prompts.
- Once the installation is finished, under step 2, click on Connect and get my printers to add the Secure Print printer driver.
- You can verify if the printer was added successfully by navigating to "Printers & Scanners" on your Mac/Windows computer, and see if the Canon_Secure_Print[UtilityApps](Mobility) is listed there.
Secure Print Troubleshoot
Mac: if your print queue is stuck loading and has the following message Hold for Authentication
- Click the refresh icon to the right of it, this will prompt you to enter your Iliff Google credentials (ensure the username is your Iliff username and not the computer name (e.g. jdoe, not jdoe21))
